Mini Digger Width Guide: Gates, Trailers, and Site Access

Mini Digger Width Guide: Gates, Trailers, and Site Access

Start With the Narrowest Point

The narrowest gate, door, or trailer ramp on your route decides which mini digger width will work. A 0.9 m gate needs a micro machine, a 1.2 m opening fits many small diggers, and a 1.5 m opening accepts most compact models.

Leave a working margin on both sides. Gates are rarely perfectly level and the operator needs room to correct the machine as it moves through.

Trailer Width Checklist

  • Usable deck width, not overall trailer width.
  • Ramp width matched to the track gauge.
  • Blade position when loading and unloading.
  • Mirrors and canopy clearance on the trailer.

Plan Before You Book

Measure the machine width, blade width, and the narrowest access point, then book transport. If two machine sizes both fit, the narrower one is usually easier to move and less risky on site.
