A Straight Answer for Site Planning
Most mini diggers are between 0.8 m and 1.6 m wide. Micro machines sit near the lower end of that range, while larger compact models approach or exceed 1.6 m with blades and canopies included.
For early site planning, assume a typical small machine is around 1.0 to 1.2 m wide and verify the exact number before booking transport.

- Small mini diggers: 1.0 m to 1.2 m, common for residential work.

Overall Width vs Track Width
Manufacturers usually quote track width on the spec sheet. The actual widest point can be the blade, canopy, handrails, or counterweight, so ask for the overall working and transport width.
Always measure gates and trailer decks against the overall width with a safety margin.
How to Choose the Right Width
Start with the narrowest point the machine must pass. If the access is 1.2 m, choose a machine with overall width below 1.05 m to leave working room on each side.
Next consider stability. Wider machines handle lifting and digging better, so if access allows, choose a wider model rather than the absolute smallest one.
